We Offer Telehealth Services via Video Conferencing
Clients have questions, we have answers. There will be a display of the most frequently asked questions below, so everybody benefits. Please reach us at chuff@journey4hopecounseling.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
“TeleMental” health means the mode of delivering services via technology-assisted media, such as but not limited to, a telephone, video, internet, a smartphone, tablet, PC desktop system or other electronic means using appropriate encryption technology for electronic health information. TeleMental health facilitates client self-management and support for clients and includes synchronous interactions and asynchronous store and forward transfers.” (Georgia Code 135-11-.01). TeleMental Health has made it more convenient to keep and access therapy services. Our client portal provides a guide on how to use Telehealth for all clients.
There are some limitations to the use of electronic devices for TeleMental Health, however, it will be your responsibility to communicate only through devices that you know are secure and choose a secure location to interact with technology-assisted media (See TeleMental Health Consent). Your communications with your therapist are part of your treatment record and are held confidential according to HIPAA policy unless meeting requirement to disclose under the law (See J4H Notice of Privacy Practices and HIPAA policy attachment).
We do accept some insurances and considered in-network. Please see the "About Us" page for insurances accepted. "In-Network" means we are in contract with the insurance carrier and charge according to terms of that contract and the terms of your plan. If you have a deductible, a copay, or a coinsurance, that will be charged for services.
If we are "Out-of-Network" with your insurance plan, this means that we have no specific agreement with your insurance company, and we charge our set rates. You will be responsible for the full fee of your session. We can provide a "superbill", which has all of the information for you to submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.
Headway is a billing company that provides additional billing services for Journey 4 Hope specific to the following insurance companies: Aetna, United HealthCare, and Cigna. For clients who carry any of these insurances, you will interface directly with Headway for all co-payments and other billing issues only.
It is your responsibility to check and know your benefits. Proof of insurance is required and we will verify eligibility, benefits and active coverage prior to service. During verification, we will request an estimate of the client cost share. You will be notified of this information and it will be used as a basis for charges. However, this is only an estimate and exact payments and fees are not determined until claims are fully processed by insurance. If your insurance does not cover services, you may opt to use our self pay fee schedule. You will be responsible for paying your full balance should your insurance default on payment for any reason (See J4H Intake Form and Rights and Responsibilities).
The "No Surprise Act" was enacted on 1/1/2022 to prevent "surprise" billing that often occurs when receiving medical services by an out-of-network provider. The "No Surprise Act" compels providers to inquire if you have insurance, to notify you if we are in-network or out-of-network with that insurance, and to provide you with a "Good Faith Estimate" of your costs that will be associated with care. You will have an idea of your costs by determining your co-pay (in-network provider) or by reviewing our rates (self-pay or out-of-network).Multiply that amount by how often you desire to receive services and this will provide an estimate of costs you can expect. Again, this will be an estimate and you will be notified of any changes to rates and projected frequency of sessions.
Everyone has times in their lives where they face challenges and conflicts that are difficult for them to face and handle alone. As a matter of fact, many times when we face problems alone, we find them to be even more difficult to deal with. That's when we need to reach out for help and support. Specifically when our problems are beyond the knowledge of our friends and family, we need to seek professional support through a therapist. A therapist can help provide an unbiased, solution focused and alternative perspective that can empower and guide you to address problems strategically. In addition, a therapist can provide education regarding the impact of life challenges on mental health and provide proven treatments to help resolve or minimize the impact of challenges and improve your overall health.
You may email or call to receive a free 15 minute phone consultation. Intake appointments can be scheduled within 2 weeks (dependent on availability of therapist) and up to 4 weeks in advance. New clients must contact Journey 4 Hope directly to be scheduled. See our contact information for details.
